CUSTOMS REFORM PLAN INTRODUCED
It also targets to build a professional and clean-fingered customs sector which is equipped with modern technology and meets with the requirements on international integration.
The plan focuses on three strategic targets namely (i) managing customs on enterprises, organizations, and individuals in favor of security and international trade, source of revenue, social security; (ii) raising quality and efficiency of State management on customs and promoting information sharing and cooperation among domestic and foreign ministries, agencies, and organizations; (iii) improving competence of customs offices, building e-customs and e-Government.
Developing e-customs model
E-customs model will be developed in which the automated customs clearance system (VNACCS/VCIS) and single-window system will be perfected.
Meanwhile, customs regulations and processes will be finalized in compliance with free trade agreements, the Law on Customs, the Law on Import and Export Duty, the Law on issuance of legal documents, and other related laws.
The customs sector also planned to strengthen investigations; prevent smuggling and trade fraud and promote partnership with other ministries, agencies, international organizations, and foreign customs departments.

FDI INFLOW INTO VIETNAM REACHES NEARLY 15.2 BILLION USD
Vietnam attracted nearly 15.2 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first six months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 13.1 per cent, according to the General Statistics Office.
